HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant launched in Canada (by Telus, Bell)

HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S, two of the latest high-end Android smartphones, are available in Canada as of today.

As mentioned before, Telus is the Canadian carrier that’s offering the HTC Desire. The handset costs .99 with a contract agreement for three years, or 9.99 free of contract. Prices for 2-yr and 1-yr agreements are also available: check it all out here at Telus.

The Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant is offered by Bell and it also costs with a 3-yr contract agreement. It’s slightly more expensive sans contract, though: 9. You can get it here at Bell. Customers who buy a Galaxy S Vibrant before August 12 can win tickets to a Lady Gaga concert. Also, those who buy the smartphone before September 3 are “automatically entered into a draw to win a 55-inch Samsung LED HD TV.”

Rogers – which already has lots of Android handsets – is bringing the Galaxy S to Canada as well (the Captivate version), but it didn’t say when exactly it will launch it.

The conclusion? Android is taking over Canada, too.
