Starting The Weekend Early At David Yurman

Who needs the Hamptons? For his annual summer fête, David Yurman had the setting sun, the water views, the beachy, cucumber-infused drinks, and the stylish crowd—Scott Schuman and Garance Doré, Emma Snowdon-Jones, Alexis Bryan Morgan, Sessilee Lopez—all on his Tribeca HQ’s rooftop. Why bother with the traffic on the L.I.E.?

“This is the greatest party,” Yurman said. “It’s just about celebrating summer.”

Admittedly, most of the crowd was of the weekend-getaway variety. Gossip Girl’s Kelly Rutherford (pictured, left, with Yurman) congratulated the host on a lovely party—she was sun-kissed from Montauk. Yurman and the missus chatted about their equestrian pursuits (he owns horses), Europe, and the economy—they were fresh from their home in Amagansett. But for a Thursday night, they were the city’s best approximation of the beach, which is enough to put anyone in a good mood. “We’re feeling very fortunate, really excited,” Yurman said simply, gesturing at all the beautiful people partying on his deck. “Just look at this.”
